Chowkidar twitter handle: Akhilesh, Maya attack Modi

Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav and BSP supremo Mayawati on Sunday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over adding 'chowkidar' to his twitter handle saying that it was humiliating the 'chowkidars' (guards) in the country.

"It is very easy to call oneself a chowkidar... Today the youths are doing the same thing after failing to get jobs... The farmers are also guarding their farms from stray animals by staying awake at nights," Akhilesh said.

"The country wants a PM not prachar mantri (publicity minister)," he remarked.

Mayawati also took potshots at the changed twitter handle of Modi saying that it reflected his (Modi) fear and panic.

"Embroiled in the defence deal controversy like the Bofors, it proves how scared Modi and the BJP is," Mayawati tweeted.
