Rajya Sabha was on Wednesday adjourned till 2 PM after AIADMK MPs rushed to the Well of the House over Cauvery issue.
As soon as the official papers were laid on the table, AIADMK MPs rushed to the Well of the House holding placards demanding justice for farmers on Cauvery delta in Tamil Nadu.
PDP MP Mir Mohammed Fayaz was on the aisle protesting against the killing of civilians during an encounter Pulwama. While holding a poster, the inscriptions on his t-shirt read "stop killing in Kashmir, stop the bloodshed in Kashmir".
In the din, Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad raised the issue of privilege notices submitted by Opposition to be accepted by the House even as Naidu said the issue was under consideration.
While "appreciating" Naidu's nod for discussing issues raised by Opposition, Azad said one of the issues agitating people across the country is the issue of the government "misleading the Supreme Court" on Rafale issue. "Let the House accept it," he said.
As the din continued, Naidu adjourned the House till 2 PM. At 2 PM, a calling attention motion on the cyclone-hit states will be taken up.
When the House assembled, Naidu at the outset appeal for cooperation for running the House smoothly.
He said he has admitted discussions on price rise and agrarian crisis. Naidu also said he will allow MPs from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to speak on Cauvery issue but reminded them to not to whip up passion.
