Stop snooping: Tejashwi tells Nitish on CCTV row

Last Updated 15 November 2018, 11:41 IST

Former Deputy Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has charged Nitish Kumar with snooping on him through a CCTV installed at the CM’s residence.

Tejashwi, son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, is Nitish’s neighbour in the high-security zone where most of the VVIPs in the State Capital stay.

In a series of tweets, Tejashwi questioned the need of spying on him through CCTV. “Is this Nitish ji’s paranoia for security or many other insecurities, frustrations and apprehensions that he has put CCTV camera right on the boundary wall b/w his and mine residence to snoop over? Why CM needs a camera only there with already a permanent security post?” tweeted Tejashwi.

Blasting Nitish for snooping on him in the name of ‘tightened security’, the RJD leader said, “Bihar Government should tighten the security whenever required for the CM who enjoys Z+ category and even resides in high security zone, but is it preferable to install high resolution HD CCTV cameras facing, snooping and interfering the privacy of neighbour?”

The former Deputy Chief Minister suggested that the police, instead of VVIP areas, should tighten security in and around Patna, besides other districts as not a single day passes when there is no major crime in Bihar. “With every passing second, a heinous crime is committed in Patna region, leave alone the whole State. But autocratic, insecure CM is more bothered about snooping into the day to day activities of the opponents…” tweeted Tejashwi.

Slamming Nitish for keeping three bungalows (two in Patna and one in New Delhi) and one exclusive plush suite in Bihar Bhavan, Tejashwi said, “…why self-proclaimed austere CM of a poor state has this obsession with luxury and grandeur? Has he got any morality to answer this?”
