Xiaomi confirms to launch premium phone Mi 11 Ultra in India

Xiaomi, earlier in the week, unveiled the company's 2021 flagship smartphone Mi 11 Ultra along with three other Mi 11 variants in China.

Now, the company has announced to bring the premium Mi 11 Ultra model in India later this month on April 23.

The upcoming Mi 11 Ultra is the most powerful Android phone to enter the Indian market. It comes beefed up with the latest Qualcomm chipset, feature-rich photography hardware, big battery with super-fast charging capability.

The new Mi 11 Ultra sports a 6.81-inch Quad HD+ (3200×1440p) AMOLED screen, offers a peak brightness of 1700 nits (peak) brightness, supports HDR10 +, 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, in-screen fingerprint sensor with heart rate monitoring capability.

And, on top of the display, the company has used Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, the sturdiest protective shield for an Android phone. Also, the device comes with an IP68 rating, meaning the Mi 11 Ultra can sustain water pressure up to 1.5 meters (around 5 feet) for close to 30 minutes.

An interesting aspect of the Mi 11 Ultra is that it comes with a small functional screen beside the massive camera module on the back. It is a 1.1-inch always-on AMOLED display with 126 x 294p resolution and offers a peak brightness of 450 nits. This comes in handy to take a selfie with the rear-side primary camera.

Under-the-hood, Mi 11 Ultra come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor backed by 6400Mhz 8GB/12GB LPPDDR5 RAM, 128GB/256GB/512GB (UFS 2.1) storage, Android 11-based MIUI 12.5, dual-SIM slots (type: nano+nano), and infrared sensor.

Also, it comes with a massive 5,000mAh battery. It is more than enough to keep the phone running for a full day if not more under normal usage. With 67W wired, it can fully charge and wireless charging capability via USB Type-C charger.

As far as the photography hardware is concerned, it features a triple-camera module-- main 50MP (1/ 1.12-inch Samsung ISOCELL GN2 sensor, 1.4μm pixel size, f/1.95, OIS: Optical Image Stabilisation) + 48MP 128-degree ultra-wide-angle lens (Sony IMX586 sensor, f/2.2) + 48MP telephoto camera (Sony IMX586 sensor, OIS, f/4.1, 5x optical, 10x hybrid, up to 120x zoom) backed by an LED flash, dToF (direct Time-of-Flight) sensor, flicker sensor. It is capable of recording up to 8K at 24fps, 4K at 30fps/60fps, full HD 1080p at 30fps/60fps, boasts gyro-EIS (Electronics Image Stabilisation) for stable videos.

On the front, it features a 20MP in-display selfie camera with f/2.2, 0.8μm pixel size, 1.6μm 4-in-1 Super Pixel, 78-degree field-of-view, and fixed focus.

It also supports Type-C audio, Hi-Res audio, dual speakers to offer stereo effect, boasts Harman Kardon audio system, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6.0, IR blaster, and multifunctional NFC.
Xiaomi has announced that the Mi 11 Ultra in two colours-- Ceramic White and Ceramic Black. In China, depending on the configuration is price ranging between Rs 66,500 and Rs 77,500.
