<p class="title">Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy stated that the results of byelections to three Lok Sabha seats and two Assembly seats will decide whether the JD(S)-Congress alliance will last or not.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking to the media in Shivamogga on Tuesday, Kumaraswamy said the by-election was a platform to bolster the alliance. He clarified that the by-poll was not an electoral battle between two individuals.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"Congress-JD(S) nominee Madhu Bangarappa is like a brother to me, and I am confident that voters will elect him as MP."</p>.<p class="bodytext">Replying to a question, the chief minister said that the BJP was fighting the election on the "Hindutva" plank. "But Hindutva is not BJP's property. We are also Hindus.
