Attack fears may have forced Ramya to vacate home

Actor Ramya, the social media head of the All India Congress Committee, has vacated the house she had rented in Mandya, fearing attack on the house, it is now said.

She faced criticism on social media for not attending the last rites of actor-politician Ambareesh, who passed away recently.

Ambareesh’s body was brought to Mandya and placed at the district stadium, which is very near to Ramya’s rented house at Vidyanagar.

People expected that Ramya would visit Mandya, to pay her last respects to Ambareesh. But, she neither visited the district nor did she participate in the funeral in Bengaluru. The police department had provided security to her residence as they received information that the house may be attacked.

A Congress leader said, “If Ramya has a house in Mandya, people will expect her to visit the place. If there is no house, there will be no such expectation. Her political future in Mandya is over," he said.

According to Congress sources, Ramya vacated the house in Mandya as directed by the house owner and Congress leader Sadath Ali Khan. However, Khan told reporters in Bengaluru that he had not asked her to vacate the house.

“I was not aware that Ramya had shifted her belongings. Anyway, it is good that she vacated the house as she was not living there. Now, at least, we can use the house," he said.
