Isn't it a wonder?

Finally, the shoot for the song from the film Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu (CNN), that features the seven wonders of the world, has been completed. After waiting for months for permission to shoot at the Great Wall of China, the team of CNN decided to give up the idea and headed towards the latest man-made wonder, the Burj Khalifa.

The tallest building, which was inaugurated recently in Dubai, seemed like an ideal place to complete the song. And what more? This will be the first Indian film to have been shot in front of the building. “The makers of many films, like Saif Ali Khan’s Agent Vinod, have booked the place but haven’t started shooting there yet. So technically, we are the first film to have shot in front of the building,” director Raghuram tells Metrolife. The song, featuring the lead pair Shivarajkumar and Sonal Chauhan, was shot from four different angles in front of the building. “This was just a part of the song. The reason we didn’t shoot inside was because we wanted people to see the building,” explains Raghuram.

During most shoots, the cast and crew have to face many extreme weather conditions. And the crew of CNN had their share of it as well for this song. But for this particular sequence, Raghuram says the weather was very pleasant and not as sunny compared to Bangalore. “In fact, this must be the only place where everybody in the crew and cast returned without a tan,” adds Raghuram, who shot the sequence in two days.

As compared to last few “wonder visits”, Raghuram says that this particular wonder had less crowd-pullers. “That was because there were only under-constructed buildings around. We did have many security guys and people coming over and wondering what was going on. But compared to our other shoots, this was a little low profile.”

The film’s shooting is complete and a majority of the post-production work has also been done. Raghuram is expecting the first copy of the film by the end of the month and hopes the film will hit the screens by April.
