The election rallies have reached their peak with the parties trading charges against each other. PM Modi was in Jharkhand after filing the nomination, while Amit Shah and Mamata locked horns in Bengal. Mamata also courted controversy after she offered to 'cook something for him (Modi)' if he wanted though she was not sure whether he would eat what she cooked. The Tuesday Interview

Union minister Anurag Thakur is pursuing a fifth term from the Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency in Himachal Pradesh, even as by-elections in six seats of the state assembly draw near. Campaigning in the seat with a roadshow that saw the presence of his father, former CM and BJP veteran P K Dhumal, Thakur asks for votes because of the work that he has done in the region. In an interview with DH’s Amrita Madhukalya, Thakur talks about Kejriwal, the Muslim reservation issue, and predicts that the BJP will cross 400.

Election Commission releases second report on two months of enforcement of MCC

In the last two months, the Election Commission of India has disposed of 90 per cent of 425 complaints. Commission satisfied that overall in the last two months, the campaign space has been violence-free, less noisy, less cluttered and intrusive, free of inducement and ostentatiousness.

As a measure of enhanced transparency and disclosure, the Election Commission of India suo-motu released a second report on two months of enforcement of MCC during GE 2024. The first report was released on April 16, 2024.
