Apply for PG in Tulu at varsity evening college

Mangaluru University will start a postgraduation course in Tulu from the current academic year at Mangalore University Evening College, Tulu Postgraduation Education Convener Prof B Shivaram Shetty said.

Addressing media persons on Thursday, he said that the objective of the course is to create sensitivity among students about the rich cultural heritage of Tulu language and Tulu Nadu. The postgraduation course also aims at encouraging research in Tulu language, literature and culture, he added.

The university has already introduced a certificate course, a diploma course and a postgraduate diploma course in Tulu, he said.

The university has invited applications for the new postgraduation course in Tulu.

Thirty seats are available. The aspirants should have completed a degree in any subject, with 45% marks in aggregate. The duration of the course is two years.

Prof Shetty said that the syllabus for the course is ready. The reference materials will be prescribed by the university, as there are no specific text books so far, Prof Shetty said.

The final examination will be evaluated for 70 marks and the internal examination will have 30 marks.
