The Transport department seized 108 vehicles across the state on Wednesday for violations of the Motor Vehicles Act and the election model code of conduct.
The maximum number of vehicles seized was 40 from Bengaluru Rural district, followed by 19 from Belagavi.
A total of 11,596 vehicles were stopped and checked, of which the owners of 1,160 vehicles were booked. In all, Rs 28,71,480 was collected in tax and Rs 1,86,729 as fine.
