32 new cases of malaria found in Delhi

Delhi registered 32 new cases of malaria last week. Of this, six infected patients hail from Delhi, 18 from Uttar Pradesh, seven from Haryana and one from another state.

This has brought the total number of cases reported to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to 603 in 2012. UP’s contribution to this figure is 399, while Haryana and other states contributed 45 and 27 respectively.

In the weekly report of anti-malaria operation of MCD, no case was reported from New Delhi Municipal Corporation area. The East Delhi Municipal Corporation reported three cases.
Shahadara (south) had two, while Shahadara (north) had one case. SDMC had two cases – one from Najafgarh keeping it at the top among all districts with total 27 cases so far. West had one case.

North corporation had one case from Narela. Najafgarh is closely followed by Shahadara (north) with 25 and Narela with 23 cases.
