Annual festivities at Talacauvery

Various religious programmes will be held as part of the annual fair at Agasthyeshwara, Ganapathi, Moola Cauvery and Parivara Devatha at Talacauvery on May 20, Bhagandeshwara Telacauvery Temple Managing Committee Chairman Biddatanda S Thammaiah said.

Addressing media persons here on Saturday, he that the religious rituals will be held under the guidance of Neeleshwara Padmanabha Tantri. A V Narayana Poduval and team from Payyanur, Kerala, will conduct Ashtamangala for three days starting from May 21.

He said the government has granted ‘A’ grade to Bhagandeshwara and Igguthappa temples.

The district administration, government and management committees will jointly conduct various development activities in these temples, he added.

Thammaiah said first preference has been given to cleanliness in Talacauvery. The Subrahmanya Gudi has been repaired and the rest of the maintenance works will be carried out soon.

Additional staffers have been deployed for the security of the temple.

Various places have been fixed for carrying out religious rituals such as ‘pinda pradana’ and ‘kesha mundana’.. The renovation of Brahmagiri will be taken up. UGD facilities will be made available in Talacauvery, he explained.

Thirteen-acre land has been identified near Tavoor near Bhagamandala to provide lodging facilities to devotees, he said.

Bhagandeshwara Talacauvery Temple Management Committee Executive Officer M Jagadish Kumar, members Udiyanda P Subhash and S M Kaverappa were present.
