<p>The city recorded another swine flu death with total number of patients succumbing to the H1N1 virus going up to 12 this season.<br /><br /></p>.<p>A 24-year-old woman delivered a baby in Fortis, Shalimar Bagh in February-end, according to a DHS official. Later, on March 9 she succumbed to swine flu at the Delhi government-run Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital. <br /><br />“It was detected that the patient was suffering from swine flu when she was admitted at Fortis. She was also suffering from foetal distress. She gave birth to a baby which is healthy. However, complications persisted after the Caeserean delivery. The woman was also suffering from uncontrolled diabetes,” said Dr Charan Singh, nodal officer for swine flu, Directorate of Health Services (DHS).<br /><br /> The woman, a resident of north Delhi, was put on Tamiflu capsule before delivery. But she was suffering from severe lower respiratory tract infection, said a senior DHS official.<br /><br />Earlier, a woman after her delivery had died at Lok Nayak Hospital due to swine flu and an 18-year-old woman had died at the East Delhi Municipal Corporation-run Swami Dayanand Hospital. In both the cases, the babies did not survive.<br /><br />On Wednesday, another 15 cases of swine flu were reported. “Sixty-three tests were conducted, of which, 15 samples have tested positive for the virus,” said Dr Singh. Now, the total number of swine flu cases in the Capital has gone up to 4,084.<br />Senior DHS officials claimed that the number of swine flu cases is on the decline now.<br /><br />However, according to experts, people are still vulnerable to swine flu infection because of cold conditions and rain persisting in the city.<br /><br />Meanwhile, the government’s decision to open two more government labs at Maulana Azad Medical College and University College of Medical Sciences still remains pending. <br /></p>
