KCR files nomination papers from Medak

TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao offered prayers at the Lord Venkateswara temple at the Konaipalli village near Siddipet, his home town, on Wednesday before leaving for district collectorate here to file his nominations.

KCR has been visiting the temple since 1985, before he embarked on any major political activity including launching of the TRS. Later addressing the crowd, he asked people of Telangana to give a fitting reply to the Congress and the TDP by electing the TRS in the ensuing elections.

KCR lashed out at both Congress and the TDP leaders for describing him as a “dora” based on his caste and said that he never behaved like a master or landlord. He always considered himself as a servant of the people and not as their master.

Reminding people of Telangana that they had witnessed and experienced both the TDP and the Congress rule, KCR exhorted the people of Telangana state to empower the TRS to administer the new state with ability and commitment to make it a model state as promised in the party manifesto.

He reiterated that all the promises made in the manifesto would be implemented without fail. “The TRS should at least get 16 Lok Sabha seats and a majority of Assembly seats in the elections in order to usher in a golden era in Telangana unlike in the past when both the TDP and the Congress have only looted the people for their own selfish ends, he said.

The TRS president pointed out that he was not after power or position. The credit for achieving the cherished dream of Telangana state was more than enough, he said. KCR also reiterated that Telangana and Seemandhra employees should remain in their respective places of work.

He lamented that even after achieving their own state of Telangana, the domination of Seemandhra was still persisting. After filing nomination here, he filed Assembly nomination in Gajwel Revenue office.

KCR's daughter Kavitha filed her nomination for Nizamabad Lok Sabha seat, TPCC Chief Ponnala Laxmaiah at Janagaon, and former DGP Dinesh Reddy (YSRC) for Malkajgiri, Vivek (Congress) for Peddapaalli, BJP Telangana chief Kishan Reddy for Amberpet Assembly and CPI state secretary Narayana for Khammam Lok sabha seat.

Almost 12 rebel candidates from the TRS reportedly also filed nominations on Wednesday, being the last day for filing nomination.  In all around 200 nominations for 17 Lok Sabha seats and over 1,800 nominations for 119 Assembly seats in Telangana were filed. Last date for withdrawal of nominations is on April 12 for Telangana.
