Telangana BJP ready to go it alone in polls

Last Updated 29 March 2014, 20:52 IST

A vexed Telangana BJP unit on Saturday night announced that it can’t wait any longer for a seat sharing arrangement with TDP and is ready to go alone in Telangana.

The decision came after Central BJP leader and party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar failed to reach any agreement with TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu despite camping here for almost two weeks.

Javadekar was so unhappy that he indicated first list of candidates will be announced within two days. This is because arriving at an agreement on seat-sharing, both in Telangana and Seemandhra, is proving to be tougher than expected. As a last-ditch effort, BJP Telangana chief Kishan Reddy held talks with TDP leaders at a hotel on Saturday. Errabelli Dayakar Rao, L Ramana and Mothkupalli Narasimhulu took part in the talks.

BJP leaders wanted the TDP leaders to give two separate lists: One list containing seats which the TDP is ready to give and another list of seats which the party is not willing to give to BJP.
