Ex-BSP ministers remanded to police custody

Two former BSP ministers arrested in connection with alleged multi-crore Labour and Construction Co-operative Federation (LACCFED) scam in Uttar Pradesh were on Saturday remanded to police custody for 24 hours by a local court.

In-charge district and sessions judge S N Agnihotri remanded former ministers Rangnath Mishra and Chandradeo Ram Yadav on an application moved by investigating officer Dy SP A P Gangwar.

The remand of the two ministers, who are already in jail, will start from 9 am on Sunday.
In the remand application it was stated that there was an allegation of the ministers’ involvement in a scam of more than Rs 2 crore, the prosecution said.

During investigation, it came to light that the accused have made benami properties worth several crores.
