Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi held an innovation awards ceremony on Thursday and selected three best projects out of the 10 on display.

IIT students from Delhi, Kanpur and Mumbai bagged the awards. IIT-Delhi’s zumble.com was a winner. “It is an application which one can download on phone or computer. The application works as a filter, when it takes your basic information including your likes or dislikes,” said one of the project creator. You can then chat with people with similar interests.

Students from IIT Kanpur, who were also awarded for their project called CLASAT — computationally light audio based semantic analysis tool — have created a mobile tool which can recognise sounds in the environment.

Another award was given to an IIT Mumbai project called Drishti. “These are like universal eyeglasses which will have an intelligence module that will figure out any kind of error on the glasses and rectify it without the user manually doing it,” said the official. The winners got a tablet and cash prizes. The award ceremony is a part of Samsung innovation awards.
