Light showers bring relief to city

Many parts of the national capital, including the venue of Art of Living Foundation’s event, received rainfall on Friday, bringing down maximum temperatures by five degrees. 

The minimum and maximum temperatures were recorded at 16 and 26 degree Celsius respectively. 

Rainfall was recorded at 3 millimetre at Safdarjung observatory, 12.8 mm at Palam, 5.2 mm at Lodhi Road, 7.0 mm at Najafgarh, and 5 mm at Pitampura. 

The rain restricted mercury from soaring further. It was recorded at 31.1 degree Celsius on Thursday. 

The weather department has predicted generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain and hail in the afternoon and evening of Saturday. 

The minimum temperature is likely to hover around 15 degrees. 

The weatherman has also predicted that the intensity of rain will pick up and showers will continue over the national capital on March 12 and 13. Some places are likely to receive moderate showers with one or two odd heavy spells.
