Timarpur MLA Pankaj Pushkar was marshalled out of the Vidhan Sabha for disrupting the House proceedings on Monday.

The dissident AAP MLA criticised the education bills being tabled in the Assembly saying they have been introduced to give an added advantage to private schools.

Speaker Ram Niwas Goel warned Pushkar of creating ruckus in the Assembly proceedings, but the latter continued his tirade about the degrading level of eduction in government schools.

“There are some three lakh students studying class 9 in the government schools across Delhi. Of which 2.5 lakh have failed in the mid-term examination,” he said.
“It shows that the city government has failed to provide quality education to schoolchildren,” he added.

Goel asked him to raise the issue when the Assembly will discuss the education bills. Pushkar slammed Goel for not allowing him to speak. “The Speaker is misusing his post,” he said.

When he did not budge, Goel called the marshals to take him out of the Assembly.
Pankaj Pushkar is a member of Swaraj Abhiyan, a group formed by Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan.
