<p class="title">A threat by a group of Rajput women to commit johur (self-immolation)to protest against the release of 'Padmaavat' fizzled out as police cordoned the entire Chittorgarh Fort and barricaded the entrance.</p>.<p class="title">The fort wore a deserted look and was off limits for tourists on Wednesday. This is the second time that its doors were closed to the public.</p>.<p class="title">The move came after members of the Karni Sena tried to break into the fort in order to stage a protest against the movie 'Padmavaat'. </p>.<p class="title">The police also detained a group of women claiming to be members of the Rajput Kashatrani Manch, fearing that they would commit johur.</p>.<p class="title">Tight security cover was put up at the entrance of the fort and the police foiled a protest march by a women's group.</p>.<p class="title">The Karni Sena claimed that 1,900 women have registered for johur. </p>.<p class="title">Meanwhile, Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria on Wednesday appealed to the protesters to carry out their agitation peacefully. </p>.<p class="title">Talking to media, Kataria said that maintaining law and order in the state is his duty and he would not allow anyone to disrupt it.</p>.<p class="title">"We have appealed to protesters to protest while being within the framework of law and order," said Kataria . </p>
