<p>The parents of a minor girl have been arrested after they forced her into the flesh trade – and actually sought police help to trace her when she fled from a pimp. <br /><br /></p>.<p>She revealed a sordid tale of being passed from one pimp to another after the parents Lal Singh and Chandrawati from Jahangirpuri sold her off. Three pimps were also arrested on Tuesday.<br /><br />On September 25, Chandrawati lodged a report with North Rohini police station, saying her daughter had gone missing. Police traced the girl in Uttar Pradesh, and learnt about her ordeal. <br /><br />According to the police investigation, Lal Singh, a vegetable supplier, had not been doing well in his business over the last two year, and had run into debt. <br /><br />The couple then decided to bring their daughter from their native place in Uttar Pradesh, telling her that she would get better education in the City.<br /><br />But after he few days, they asked her to get into prostitution. When she resisted, she was beaten up by Lal Singh, police said. When she turned to her mother too, she was thrashed.<br /><br />The girl was handed over to Ravinder Singh, a pimp from Rani Bagh in west Delhi. After a few months, Ravinder Singh took her to Moradabad and handed her over to Shanno, another pimp.<br /><br />After some more months, Shanno shifted her to Sachin Rastogi of Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh.<br /><br />Whatever the girl earned was shared between the pimps and Lal Singh, police said. <br />Last month, the girl found an opportunity to escape. The money stopped coming in for the parents.<br /><br />Her parents and the pimps tried searching for the girl but could not locate her. They then sought police help, hoping to send her back into prostitution once she was found.<br /><br />“The girl will be produced before the child welfare committee and shall be taken care throught counselling and rehabilitation,” said deputy commissioner of police (outer) B S Jaiswal. <br /></p>
