SHALE OIL

Oil shale, also known as kerogen shale, is an organic-rich fine-grained sedimentary rock containing kerogen from which liquid hydrocarbons called shale oil can be produced
Worldwide Production: 5.1 million barrels a day
Geography: Shale oil is commercially produced in just three countries: US (88.2 per cent market share); Canada (7.8 per cent market share); Argentina (3.9 per cent market share)

Offshore oil

Offshore drilling is a mechanical process where a wellbore is drilled below the seabed. It is typically carried out in order to explore for and subsequently extract petroleum which lies in rock formations beneath the seabed.
Worldwide Production: 22 million barrels a day
Geography: Offshore energy is found in Americas, Persian Gulf, North Africa,
Russia and India

ONshore oil

Onshore, when used relative to hydrocarbons, refers to an oil, natural gas or condensate field that is under dry land or to activities or operations carried out in relation to such a field.
Worldwide Production: 52.8 million barrels a day
Geography: Onshore energy is majorly produced in the Midlle East, Americas, and Russia
