Teacher rapes minor for 4 yrs, held

The police said they have arrested a teacher who is accused of raping a 14-year-old student for the past four years.

The student, residing in Ajmeri Gate, alleged that she had been repeatedly raped  by her teacher at Haus Khas in north Delhi.

“The victim’s parents approached the local police after the accused — 42-year-old Shailendra Singh — said inappropriate things to the victim’s sister over the phone,” said a senior police officer.

When the victim’s sister told her parents about it, they turned to the victim, a class 9 student, for an explanation.

“The victim broke down when her parents questioned her. She told them that he had been taking her to different north Delhi hotels over the last four years and was sexually assaulting her,” according to the the officer.

Singh had allegedly threatened to leak “indecent” pictures of her on the internet if she told anyone about it. Police claim to have arrested Singh. The victim’s medical examination was conducted, police said.

Another case

In yet another instance of rape of a minor, a six-year-old girl was raped by her 17-year-old neighbour at Narela in North-East Delhi on Tuesday morning, police said.

The girl was playing outside her house in Kureni when the neighbour lured her to a nearby park on the pretext of playing with her.

He took her inside the park and sexually assaulted her, the victim’s parents told police. He fled, leaving the victim writhing in pain.

She managed to return home and told her parents about the incident. They approached the local police.

“She was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for a medical check-up, which confirmed sexual assault. A case was registered and the accused has been apprehended,” the officer said.
