The BJP is under an illusion that it can topple the coalition government by sowing seeds of doubt and disbelief, but the government will complete its tenure, said KPCC Vice President Prof Radhakrishnan.

Addressing reporters on Monday, he said that the BJP should instead try to bring in ‘Acche Din’ as promised by Narendra Modi during the Lok Sabha election in 2014. “The BJP will not come to power in the upcoming Lok Sabha election under the direction of Modi and Shah, who are burdened with their lies which will make them collapse,” he added.

Radhakrishna stated that although the seeds of the Mangalayana were sown by Rajiv Gandhi, the NDA government is taking credit for it. He called the BJP a group of indulging in stealing name, honour, respect, identity and achievement of others.

‘HAL underestimated’

He also objected to Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s statement that the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) was not equipped to produce jets in India in collaboration with French company Dassault Aviation. He called the minister’s statement an insult to the Indian scientists’ community, who are on par with the scientists of the world.

“Although Union Minister Nitin Gadkari claims tall on the work of highways in the country, one look at the condition of the highway from Manjeshwara to Kumta will get one to wonder over the truth in the claims. The highway is in a deplorable condition, with potholes all over. The flyovers at Pumpwell Junction and Thokkottu too have remained incomplete after six years. The cities that are selected under the Smart City Project are yet to get funds from the Centre,” he criticised.

“As the state government has reduced the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 2 each, Karnataka has the lowest petrol and diesel price in India. Even the 25 BJP-ruling states have not reduced the price,” he pointed out.

‘Two MPs instigating coastal youth’

Prof Radhakrishna said the coastal districts were known for unity and peace with the people from all community living in harmony in the past.

“However, two persons, namely Nalin Kumar Kateel and Shobha Karandlaje, are engaged in instigating the youths rather than inspiring them, which is spoiling the harmony in the districts. The citizens of the nation need no certification from BJP and its leaders as all the citizens are patriotic in nature,” he added.
