Last Updated 18 April 2018, 15:11 IST

Bengaluru-based brands have made a strong showing in the The Brand Trust Report 2018, with city brands leading five of the 38 super categories in the report.

Three of the brands have maintained lead from last year, including Dell (personal technology), Fastrack (branded fashion), Tanishq (jewellery). New category trust leaders are Arrow (apparel) and AO Smith (water heaters).

From the city perspective, LG (all-India third) leads Bengaluru’s most trusted list, followed by Hewlett Packard (all-India 9th), BMW (all-India 15th), in the second and third positions, respectively.

Life Insurance Corporation (all-India 24th) is at the fourth position and General Electric (all-India 88th) made it to fifth most trusted brand in the city, according to TRA Research.

N Chandramouli, CEO, TRA Research, said on the occasion of the report’s launch, “In a changing India, Bengaluru shows the most significant change – and represents true internationalisation with a blend of localisation, because of exposure to brands, which might be unknown elsewhere in India, making it to India’s 20 most trusted brands. Fox Entertainment, KMF (Karnataka Milk Federation), CVS Pharmacy inclusions in the national list are largely due to Bengaluru’s audiences trusting these brands”.

The all-India most trust list sees Samsung in the lead for the second year in a row. Sony and LG follow to retain the second and third positions. The fourth positions has been taken by salt-software conglomerate Tata, which is followed by Apple, which has slipped a rank from last year.
