<p>New Delhi, DHNS: The Union Ministry of Coal on Thursday kicked off the 12th round of commercial coal mine auction under which 25 blocks located in seven states including Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, will be put on sale.</p>.<p>“So far, we have auctioned 125 mines, which will attract over Rs 40,000 crore and create more than 4 lakh direct and indirect jobs,” Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy said at an event organised to launch the 12th round of auction.</p>.<p>The commercial coal mine auction was first launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2020. Since then the centre has completed 11 rounds of auction.</p>.<p>The minister informed that India’s coal production crossed the 1 billion tonnes mark, 11 days before the end of the financial year. The annual coal production has crossed the 1 billion tonnes mark for the first time in a year.</p>
