The Kerala government and Tata Consultancy Services on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding for the proposed IT Digital hub of TCS at Technocity, an upcoming technology park in the suburbs of Thiruvananthapuram city.
According to a statement, TCS will invest up to Rs. 1,500 crore in the project which would generate 20,000 jobs. The first phase of the project will be completed in 22 to 28 months, which will generate 5,000 jobs.
TCS vice president Dinesh Thampi and Technopark chief executive officer Sasi P M signed the MoU in the presence of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and senior officials of Kerala government and TCS.
TCS proposes investments in the fields of IoT, Block Chain, Robotics, Data Analytics, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence aimed at contributing to the defense, aerospace and hardware manufacturing sectors. An incubation centre for technology start-ups is also being planned by TCS in the hub.
