Armed bikers rob cabbie

Armed bikers threatened and robbed a cab driver while he was waiting at the Maruthi Layout bus stop in the early hours of November 8.

The victim, Vasanth Kumar, was going to his native Hassan to celebrate Deepavali with his family.

According to the police, around 4.30 am, Kumar was waiting for the bus when two men on a motorcycle approached him on the pretext of asking for an address.

Suddenly, one of them pulled out a knife and threatened Kumar to hand over his valuables. The accused snatched Kumar’s wallet, containing Rs 5,000, which he had saved up to celebrate Deepavali with his family, and sped away.

The victim approached the police and filed a complaint, based on which, the police have taken up a case of robbery and are verifying CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
