The state government is planning to set up four super-speciality hospitals in the city, announced Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Saturday.

Parameshwara, also the Bengaluru development minister, said: “The government is in search of land to set up the hospitals in four different parts of the city.”

“The upcoming super-speciality civil hospital will be constructed on the lines of Victoria and Jayadeva hospitals,” he added.

Parameshwara inaugurated various development projects in Govindaraja Nagar constituency as well as a public service complex named after the late Shivakumara Swami.

“The government will also upgrade parks, gardens, public libraries and roads in all the 198 wards in the city,” he said.

Parameshwara also warned that Bengaluru is headed for severe drinking water crises in the near future. “There are no further plans to assure water supply to the constantly expanding city beyond the fifth stage of the Cauvery Water Supply Scheme.” “We have to find a solution soon. People should start saving water to solve future crises,” he added.
