Twelve important traffic junctions will be developed and beautified on various themes under a plan to make Bengaluru more presentable and colourful, the BBMP says.

The civic body will make the following intersections commuter-friendly and ease traffic congestion there: Chalukya (Basaveshwara) Circle, Lalbagh West Gate, Mysore Bank Circle, Cubbon Park to Anil Kumble Circle, Trinity Circle, Kammanahalli junction, Banaswadi Main Road junction, Coles Road junction, Navarang Theatre junction, Magadi Road junction, Krupanidhi College junction and Palace Road junction.

While Chalukya Circle will be developed on the theme of the Chalukya dynasty, Anil Kumble Circle will have a sports theme given its proximity to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The famous Bengaluru Karaga festival will be the theme for the Mysore Bank Circle.

Footpaths at these intersections will become pedestrian-friendlier. The BBMP will also make sure the development of these junctions doesn’t obstruct the traffic in any way.

BBMP administrator Gaurav Gupta and commissioner N Manjunath Prasad held a meeting with architects to plan the development of the traffic junctions.
