Chitra Santhe today-Karnataka

Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath (CKP) will organise its 12th annual art festival ‘Chitra Santhe’ here on Sunday.

Artists and art lovers from across the country are expected to attend the one-day dawn-to-dusk event titled ‘Art for all.’

Over 1,500 artists will be at the santhe, where a collection of paintings, sculptures, murals, installations and mixed media artworks, among others, will be on display.Art lovers are not only in for a visual treat, but can also make purchases.

The santhe will also provide ample opportunities for art collectors and those who want to learn about art. The entire stretch of Kumara Krupa Road, where CKP is located, will become a platform for numerous artists showcasing their works, and for live portraits and caricature sessions for those who want to take a quirky memento back home.

The Parishath, as a preparation for the santhe, has decorated the institute as well as the whole stretch of the road starting from Windsor Manor Junction to Shivananda Stores junction, where the artists will display their artworks.Roads to be closed.

The East Division (Traffic) police will ban vehicular movement in certain areas from 8 am and 8 pm in view of the Chitra Santhe on Sunday.

Vehicular movement will be banned on the stretch between Windsor Manor and Kumara Krupa Road and between Shivananda Circle and Kumara Krupa Road.
