A couple on a cross-country run from Kanyakumari to Kashmir to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "good governance" received a warm welcome in Bengaluru on Thursday.

Kumar and Roopa began their 'maharun' on January 27 and have reached Bengaluru after running for 650 kilometres. They run nearly 65 kilometres a day.

Kumar and Roopa were welcomed by 'Team Modi', a group founded by orator and activist Chakravarthy Sulibele.

They were joined by thousands of people, including Sulibele, at the BBMP ground in HSR Layout on Thursday. "They reached Bengaluru at 6 am," a Team Modi member said. "After the event, they reached Peenya in the afternoon. They will go to Maharashtra from Hubballi and Belagavi and then travel to Kashmir."
