The sudden downpour on Friday evening left many areas waterlogged and led to treefalls at some places even as it brought much-needed relief from the heat.

Commuters were seen struggling as roads were partially waterlogged. MG Road near Mayo Hall, the Hebbal flyover, the road between Doddekanelli and Kabudeesanahalli and Kammanahalli were filled with water. BBMP workers were quick to clear the stagnant water near Mayo Hall. A few cars on MG Road broke down while moving through the waterlogged stretch. Some parts of Koramangala 4th Block were also waterlogged.

According to the BBMP control room, trees were uprooted at Judicial Layout in Yelahanka, Koramangala, Banaswadi and near Raj Kumar Memorial in Nandini Layout. However, no injuries were reported. The compound wall of an old house collapsed in Banaswadi, but nobody was injured.

According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre data, Sampangiramnagar and Kammanahalli received the highest rainfall with 49.5 mm each. Pulakeshinagar received 48 mm. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a cloudy sky with rain or thundershowers for Saturday.
