Janardhana Reddy’s hearing likely today

The bail application of Ballari mining baron and former BJP minister G Janardhana Reddy is likely to come up for hearing before Ist Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court on Tuesday.

The application was expected to come up for hearing on Monday but due to the holiday announced, owing to the death of Union Minister Ananth Kumar, the court’s proceedings have been posted for Tuesday.

According to prison officials, Reddy was lodged in a special security cell in Parappana Agrahara Central Prison. He arrived around 4 pm on Sunday after completing all the formalities and was left inside the cell by 6 pm.

Reddy was served upma and tea for breakfast and went on a walk outside his cell. He was later served chapathi, ragi-ball and sambar rice, but he ate only the chapathi.

Officials further added that no visitors had come to meet him and he was not served any home-cooked food. He spent the entire day in front of the television and watched the tributes pouring in for Ananth Kumar.
