Learning science is fun at Electrotechnic gallery

It is a one stop for all electronic enthusiasts where basic experiments in electronics are demonstrated. The gallery has been set up in an area of 780 sq meters at a cost of Rs 70 lakh. It houses 64 fascinating exhibits on electrical technology, such as static electricity, current electricity, electromagnetic induction, and generation of electricity, communication and many others.  

Inaugurating the 'Electrotechnic' gallery on Thursday Ministry of Culture Secretary Jawhar Sircar said that each and every individual must visit the gallery and spend at least two hours to understand basic science. "We have exploited our natural resources to the core and hence there is a growing need to find out new solutions to meet the growing energy demand. We need a small group of dedicated minds interested in pursuing research in basic sciences,” he added.

Leading molecular biologist Prof G Padmanabhan, Prof S S Hasan, Director of Indian Institute of Astrophysics Dr Vijay S Madan and others were present on the occasion.
