The police have arrested a 50-year-old muezzin for sodomising minor boys on the pretext of teaching them Arabic and Kannada at his house in Neelasandra.
The accused, Muneer Abbas Ali, was arrested on Thursday following a series of complaints from parents.
According to the Ashok Nagar police, the accused is married and had two children. He is a native of Gauribiddanur and has an MA M.Ed degree.
A senior police officer said the accused would lure minor boys with money and mobile phones and then sodomise them.
