Newly-wed woman ends life at home

A 19-year-old woman, who had recently married a man from a different community, was found dead at her Kodigehalli house on Wednesday.

The victim Roja, a native of Bagepalli and BA first-year student, had married Babajaan despite the opposition from their parents.
After the wedding, the duo shifted to Bengaluru, and he was employed at a food joint.

On Wednesday, Roja requested her husband’s friend Srinivas to bring chicken after Babajaan left to work.

There was no response from inside when he knocked the door after bringing the chicken. He peeped through the window and found her hanging from a ceiling fan.

On being alerted, the police reached the house and shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem.

The police have detained Babjaan and Srinivas for questioning.
