Rain leaves several parts of city waterlogged

The Friday evening showers left several parts of the city waterlogged causing traffic snarls and inconvenience to people.

The RMZ Ecospace near Domlur and the roads leading to Marathahalli and Whitefield were completely waterlogged.

Commuters were seen struggling to manoeuvre the road. The traffic on the stretch was stalled for more than one hour and a half. Some roads in the Central Business District (CBD) were also waterlogged.

About five trees also came crashing down due to the heavy rain in HSR Layout, Hebbal, Bommanahalli, near BDA complex at Banashankari, Bengaluru West and Mathikere. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) received a lot of complaints of waterlogging across the city and the server crashed due to this on Friday night. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials, the city received 6.6 mm of rainfall until 5.30 pm and 18.4 mm near HAL airport and 8.8 mm near KIAL. It had also forecast more rains including thundershowers towards night.
