Realtor stabbed to death in card game quarrel

A realtor was stabbed to death by his friends over a quarrel while playing cards on Saturday night.

Deceased Ramesh, 38, a resident of Hosakerehalli, ran a real estate agency in Girinagar.

Police said Ramesh had gone to an isolated place to play cards on Saturday night. They suspect that while playing cards, other members picked up a fight with Ramesh. In a fit of rage, he was attacked with sharp weapons and stabbed multiple times. He died on the spot. The assailants discarded his body in Krishnappa Layout near Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Mysuru Road.

On Sunday morning, a senior citizen noticed Ramesh’s body and informed the police. Cops arrived at the scene and sent the body for postmortem. Preliminary investigation revealed the assailants are residents of Bangarappadoddi, Hosakerehalli. The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.

Police collected CCTV footage from the area to identify who dumped the victim’s body. Meanwhile, a police team visited Hosakerehalli and interrogated the locals. They received information that Ramesh was playing cards at a nearby temple till 11 pm. The police gathered details about others who were playing cards along with Ramesh.

Ramesh’s wife, Lakshmi Bai, told the police that her husband left home around 7 pm on Saturday, but did not return home. She, along with her son Ritesh, searched everywhere. On Sunday morning, while they were about to file a man missing complaint, they received message about Ramesh’s death.
