Robbers use attention diversion tactics to rob woman

In a case where robbers snatch things by attention diversion, a handbag containing gold, cash and other valuables of a 50-year-old homemaker was taken away on Friday.

The woman, Vasudha Shirodkar, was out shopping near Jayanagar 4th Block. She was back in her car after shopping and was about to start the vehicle when two men accosted her. One of them told her she had dropped a ward of currency notes and asked her to pick it up.

Vasudha got down from the car to pick up the notes and when she returned to the driving seat, her handbag was missing.

Vasudha lodged a complained with the Jayanagar police, in which she mentioned that the missing bag contained 58 gm of gold valuables, Rs 10,000 in cash, debit cards and two mobile phones.

The Jayanagar police have filed a case of cheating and theft against the two suspects and are verifying the CCTV footage in the area to determine their identity.
