Two people, including a student, were killed in separate road accidents in the city.
Aakash (20), who was studying MBA at a private college in Bailahalli, was killed after his bike was knocked down by an unidentified vehicle near Gopalpura main road in Chikkajala on Wednesday night. A senior police officer said Aakash was a native of Hubballi and was staying at a hostel.
He was heading towards his hostel around 9.20 pm when the accident occurred. Aakash sustained grievous head injuries and passers-by shifted him to a nearby hospital, but he was declared brought dead.
The Chikkajala traffic police have registered a case and are scrutinising CCTV footage to identify the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run case.
In another incident, an autorickshaw driver was killed on the spot after his vehicle hit a divider on Thursday.
The deceased, Manjunath, was a resident of Nelamangala. The police said the incident occurred when he was returning to Nelamangala after picking up the newspapers.
The Malleswaram traffic police have registered a case and are investigating.
