Three arrested for cheating jewellery shop owners

The city police arrested three people, including former employees of Reliance Jewels, for cheating jewellery shop owners by giving them gold coated jewellery in place of their original gold ones in Jayanagar.

The police said that the accused visited IMA jewellers in the area to cheat them.

The arrested have been identified as Santosh K (27), a resident of JP Nagar, Sathyanarayana (26), a resident of Srinivas Nagar and Madhu V (26), a resident of JP Nagar. Madhu was unemployed and the accused used him to exchange the gold.

The police have seized gold jewellery of 302 grams worth Rs 9 lakh and 64 grams of silver jewellery.

The police further added that the accused earlier used to work as a sales executive at Reliance Jewels.

They are looking for two more accused Nagesh and Harsha who were also sales executives.
