Offered financial perks to union, BMRCL: HC

Last Updated 27 June 2018, 19:11 IST

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) on Wednesday informed the Karnataka High Court that they have extended some financial benefits to the BMRCL Employees Union by an order dated June 22.

The union also submitted a statement of objections in response to the report of the proceedings of the tripartite meeting involving the chief secretary that was held on June 15.

The counsel, in its statement of objections, submitted that the chief secretary took over the tripartite meeting that was held on June 15, 2018. The chief secretary asked the MD of BMRCL for a briefing about the management version on the issues referred to in the tripartite meeting.

The union, in its statement, also submitted that following the briefing, the chief secretary bluntly told the union representatives to accept whatever is granted by BMRCL in response to their demands with grace and satisfaction. Otherwise, they can look elsewhere for employment and that there are lakhs of people waiting in a queue for employment in BMRCL for less salary and benefits.

The statement stated that the chief secretary also abruptly ended the proceedings and falsely recorded that the union representatives had assured that they would withdraw the petition.

The BMRCL counsel sought time to file objections to the report submitted by the chief secretary.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till next week.
