Last Updated 08 September 2018, 05:43 IST

Three traffic policemen are in the dock for reportedly manhandling a food delivery boy, who was riding a new food delivery scooter without number plate and valid documents in KG Halli on Friday.

The delivery boy, Harish Kumar, works for the online food delivery portal Swiggy and was riding his new scooter to deliver a food parcel for a customer in Sultanpalaya.

Around 1.30 pm, while he was in Veerannapalaya, near Manyata Tech Park, a team of traffic policemen attached to KG Halli traffic police station flagged him down.

ASI Raghavendra and three other constables asked for the vehicle documents while Kumar said that it was a new vehicle and showed the bill and other documents.

However, he did not have registration certificate or insurance.

He was issued a notice and asked to pay a fine at the court which he refused to accept. The policemen then told him to leave his bike and get it released after paying the entire amount.

Kumar started to video record the happenings which irked the policemen, who then roughed him up.

A video clip of the happenings was posted on the social media which went viral.

“We had only issued a notice to him for which he was unwilling to accept and created a ruckus by videographing our men,” said a senior police officer.

Kumar is contemplating to lodge a complaint against the high-handedness of the policemen.
