The men in khaki will be seen monitoring situation, guarding public places, sensitive and highly sensitive areas. The police will make all out efforts to prevent any untoward incident.

The police have banned taking out procession and victory celebrations. Senior officers at district-level, commissionerate-levels and police station-levels have already conducted peace committee meetings, mohalla meetings and citizens committee meetings.

They also held meetings of leaders of leading political parties and religious leaders of various faiths and sought cooperation in maintaining peace and communal harmony, said sources in the police department.
