Cops to set up 6 checkposts, parking at 10 spots

Arrangements for Dasara festival in place

 
Vehicles can be parked at FMC College ground, ITI ground, the land identified for private bus stand, St Joseph Convent ground, small ground near Muthappa Temple, Gadduge ground, RMC Yard, Shanthi Church premises (two-wheelers and cycles), Junior College ground and DAR ground. No vehicles will be allowed to enter the town after 4 pm on October 17 as the number of visitors will be more.

Deviation in traffic

There will be change in the traffic movement so that vehicles will have to take deviations on October 17.

Vehicles from Mysore should ply on Sampigekatte - AV School, Muthappa Temple, St Joseph Convent, SP Office Junction, ITI Junction and park at FMC College ground.
Vehicle users coming from Siddapura, Murnadu and Mangalore will have to park their vehicles at RMC Yard. Parking facility will be arranged at ITI ground and St Joseph Convent ground for all vehicles from Galibeedu, Abbi Falls and Kalur.

Vehicles from Somwarpet, Abbi Falls and Kalur can park vehicles near Muthappa Temple and Gadduge ground. Two-wheelers coming from Mysore, Siddapura and Mangalore can be parked at Shanthi Church premises. Parking facility has been arranged at the small ground attached to the Government Hospital near Murnadu road for the vehicles from Virajpet.

Vehicles from the Eastern parts of Madikeri and plying towards West can take Sampigekatte, Gadduge, St Joseph Convent Junction and Race Course road. In return journey, vehicles can ply through Race Course road, St Joseph Convent Junction, Gadduge, Sampigekatte, Somwarpet and can enter Mysore.

Road between Chain Gate and Junior College will be made one-way for traffic temporarily. Vehicles parked at Junior College ground can take Gowda Samaja, Raghavendra Temple and Chain Gate route to proceed to Mysore.

No parking

There will be no parking on the road between General Thimmaiah Circle and KSRTC Depot. Entry of vehicles will be banned on Kudurumotte Temple - Gandhi Mantapa road - M M Circle and G T Circle - private bus stand - Indira Gandhi Circle - College road - SBI Junction - Ganapathi road -  Mahadevapete routes on October 17 and 18.

Tourists will not be allowed to visit Abbi Falls and Golf Ground between 4 pm on October 17 and 10 am on October 18. A total of six police check posts will be set up on October 17. Check posts will be set up on Mangalore road, near the pumphouse on Murnadu road, near Kodagu Vidyalaya on Siddapura road, near the welcome arc on Mysore road, Sampigekatte and at ITI Junction near Galibeedu.
