JOIN USThe accused have been identified as Ashok, Manjesh, Vijay, Praveen, Hemanth and Ramesh of Paduvarahalli here. Two cars and 11 longs (a lengthy weapon with a sharp curved edge) have also been seized from them. Another five accused in the case-Sunil, Ramakrishna, Sooraj, Chandra and Swamy are still absconding.
The accused had raided the office of Kariyappa at Vagdhevinagar on October 3 night and had attacked the latter. Kariyappa who suffered multiple injuries succumbed in no time, and Sridhar a friend of Kariyappa who was at the office then, was also attacked when he went to his friend’s rescue. The cops investigating into the case succeeded in arresting the prime accused in the case Devendra alias Devu on October 5. The reason behind the incident is the differences that had erupted among them over Paduvarahalli Gramabhivrudhi Sangha.
The police team consisted of Inspector P M Siddaraju, PSI B S Prakash, constables K S Ravi, Mahadev, Satish and others.
