John apologises for kissing Sugandha

Sugandha, a contestant in Zee TV's music reality show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar", was elated when John kissed her during his appearance on the show with music composer A.R. Rahman for the promotion of his new film "Jhootha Hi Sahi". She confessed that she had a crush on the actor during his previous appearance on the show.

However, her grandfather was quite upset at this public display of affection and the papers in Chandigarh were plastered with the grandfather's outburst at the stunt.
John once again attended the sets as a guest and apologised for his act on television.

'MasterChef India' premieres on web

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar's cookery show  "MasterChef India" premiered on the web Thursday.

It will be available on all Star websites - www.startv.in, www.indya.com and www.starplus.in - and will be on till Saturday, when the show goes on air on Star Plus. It will also be available on www.masterchefindia.in, the official site for the show. The channel has also partnered with www.rediff.com along with www.rajshri.com and www.facebook.com.

The websites will keep the viewers updated on the contestants and the show.
"Star India recognises the power of the lean forward net savvy Indian viewer and we thought it would be best to give them the first flavour of India's first every culinary based high voltage reality show with lots of drama and nail-biting tension," Anupam Vasudev, executive vice president (Marketing and Communication), STAR India, said in a statement.
"We have tried web premieres on our own properties earlier as well and have got amazing responses, so this time our idea was to reach out to the maximum possible netizens and give them a look of something which has not been showcased even on TV yet," he added.

Akshay's fan gifts him family kirpan

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar was touched when one of his Sikh fans presented him with his family kirpan (religious sword).

Supreet Narula from Lucknow had come for the auditions of Star Plus' new cookery show "MasterChef India" hosted by Akshay. The show goes on air Saturday.

"Meeting Akshay was like a dream come true. He was extremely down to earth and very welcoming," said Surpreet.

"When I had told my grandfather that I am going to gift my idol the family kirpan, he instantly agreed and Akshay was very touched by the gesture.

"He has promised me that he will hang the kirpan on his office wall and always treat it with respect. I had waited for years to meet Akshay and my biggest desire came true at 'MasterChef India'," Surpreet added.
