Disciplinary action on hold

A section in the ruling party is of the view that Vajjal could not attend the Legislative Assembly on Thursday as he had been forcibly confined by the JD(S). Vajjal on Wednesday is said to have promised the party leadership that he would support the government during the trust vote.

The party is likely to wait for Vajjal to surface, seek an explanation from him before initiating action. The JD(S) member Ashwatha has been ‘missing’ for the last one week. Though the party is convinced that he has defected to help the BJP, it would like to wait till the High Court judgment on the MLAs’ disqualification case before initiating action against the Channapatna MLA.
