Four killed in separate accidents

A 29-year-old software engineer was crushed to death under the wheels of a lorry at the Old Madras Road-Indiranagar junction on Sunday.

According to police, the accident occurred while P Devesh, an employee of Tata Consultancy Services, was riding to his office in Whitefield. The left handle of his two-wheeler brushed a lorry in his attempt to over take as a result of which he lost control and fell on the ground. He was crushed to death under the lorry’s wheels. The driver of the lorry fled the spot. The post-mortem will be conducted on Monday.

Pedestrians killed

Narayanan (40) was mowed down by a speeding Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus on Dr Marigowda Road, Wilson Garden on Saturday night.

Narayanan was trying to cross the road when the bus (TN 29 N 2200) ran over him. The driver is absconding, said the police.

Another pedestrian identified as Karthik (22), a labourer, was knocked down by an unidentified car near the Silk Board junction flyover in Madivala on Saturday. According to the police, he was hit while crossing the road. “We have got some clues about the car. The culprit will be nabbed very soon,” the police said. He was a native of Tamil Nadu.

In yet another accident, a 41-year-old person identified as Gangappa was killed by a KSRTC bus while crossing the road near Peenya on Friday. The deceased is a resident of Nelagaddarahalli. The police have arrested the driver.
